In Progress – Bonnie & Camille Barn Quilt Swap

A couple of weeks ago, I signed up for Wifeoferp’s Bonnie & Camille Barn Quilt Swap. I’m not usually one to participate in swaps, but this one combined one of my favorite fabric designers with barn quilts, which I also love, so how could I say no? 😀

After I received my partner’s information, I picked a block and a fabric line – Hello Darling by Bonnie & Camille, of course. I really love this line and I had a fat eighth bundle sitting around pleading for me to do something with it. 😀

I cut and sewed the top today, but I don’t want to post it until my partner receives it, so you just get a sneak peek:

I’m hoping to at least get it basted and start on the quilting tomorrow. I might even get it finished? I guess we’ll see. 🙂

In Progress – Minecraft Quilt – Top Almost Complete

I managed to carve out a couple of hours to get this top mostly put together yesterday! All I have left is putting on the borders. My daughter loves it already. 🙂

Kelli over at That Looks Like It Needs Stitches posted a picture of an Ender Dragon that her son drew up. My daughter saw it and demanded that I make it for her quilt too. 😀 I’ve made a very preliminary pattern in my cross stitch design software. I need to figure out the best way to piece it and then I’m going to make a pieced back. Should be fun…or something. 😀

In Progress – Summer Sampler 2016 – Block 3

I’m quilting along on my Summer Sampler 2016 quilt! This week, block number three was released and it’s called Snow Cone for obvious reasons. 🙂 This was the first time I’ve ever made a quilt block with curves and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be. I used lots of pins and lots of patience! 🙂

Here are all three of my blocks so far:

Minecraft Quilt – Block 20 – Slime

Yay! It’s block number 20 of 20 blocks needed to make the quilt top! This block turned out to be the most “complicated”. Complicated in quotes because it was still super easy, but it had smaller pieces to deal with than any of the other blocks. Still fun to make though! 🙂

I stole an idea from the Fat Quarter Shop blog and used the Spell It With Fabric letters from Moda to make my daughter’s name for her quilt. I think it came out great and will look super cute on the quilt. ❤

In Progress – Summer Sampler 2016 – Blocks 1 & 2

I first saw a picture of Summer Sampler 2016 on Instagram and decided I didn’t have enough projects in my life (haha!), so I signed up. The initial download came with a blank coloring page so I used Photoshop to color it and decide on my fabrics. I knew I wanted to use a bright orange as a focus fabric, so then I selected a turquoise and a green to go with it. Then I chose two lighter blues and one darker blue to complete the range and of course, white as a background. I’m nothing if not predictable with the white background! 😀

Here’s my quilt coloring page mockup:

The Kona Solids I’m using are shown below:
kona-white White
kona-persimmon Persimmon
kona-kale Kale
kona-celestial Celestial
kona-turquoise Turquoise
kona-jamaica Jamaica
kona-robinegg Robin Egg
I think these will work really well together. 🙂

One block will be released each Monday until all 20 blocks are out and about in the wild. Each pattern also includes a sample quilt layout using just that block. At the end of the subscription, three sample quilt layouts will be provided or you can make up your own layout.

The first block was released a week ago and the second one was released today. I finished up the first one last night and I had a little time to kill today, so I got the second one done too. Here they are:

In Progress – Minecraft Quilt – Block 19

Yay! Another block done for my daughter’s Minecraft Quilt! I think this one only took about an hour, including the time to choose and cut fabrics! So next Monday the 20th pattern will be released and then I can finish this quilt! She’s going to be releasing some extra patterns too, so I might make those into pillows or something. ❤

At the same time I sent my Easter Bunny Wall Quilt to the long-arm quilter, I also sent my Double Cross Mystery Quilt and my Ugly Christmas Sweaters Quilt. I got preview pictures of the quilting today and I’m so happy to share them here!! Thanks to Robin at Ormond Beach Quilts for doing such a great job as usual! ❤
