A friend of mine is from Canada and wanted a Canadian Maple Leaf Quilt. She received it a few days ago and loves it! 🙂 I finished this one in April, I think, but I didn’t want to post this and tip off my mom to the Texas Bluebonnets Forever quilt that I made for her, since this one was made in a similar fashion. 🙂
I finished this quilt back in March, but I had to keep it secret because it was a Mother’s Day/Birthday/Christmas present for my mom! We went to Texas last week and I gave it to her. She loved it! 🙂 It took forever to make with all those half-square triangles. I really like the way it came out. The pattern is Texas Forever by Corinne Sovey at Must Love Quilts. Since I used bluebonnet colors, I call mine Texas Bluebonnets Forever. 🙂
I just love this fabric line and I had plenty left over from the first Surrounded By Love Quilt, so I decided to make a straight patchwork quilt. It’s 35″ x 52″ and $120. 🙂
My first quilt finished with my new sewing machine! I’ll be keeping this one because the quilting isn’t great. It was interesting to start learning the quirks of this new machine though. 🙂 For this one, I used a freebie pattern from Fat Quarter Shop called Layer Cake Lemonade. You can get the pattern here and you can watch the YouTube video tutorial here.
